Training Week 1 MCRD San Diego Training Matrix

Recruits receive instruction on military history, customs and courtesies, basic first aid, uniforms, leadership and core values. They begin to learn discipline through close-order drill and hand-to-hand combat skills through the Marine Corps Martial Arts Program, which is made up of various martial arts styles.

Training Week 1 MCRD San Diego Training Matrix

WEEK ONE

  • Intro to Core Values: Recruits are taught about the core values honor, courage, and commitment.
  • M16 Issue: Recruits are issued their weapons that they'll use throughout boot camp.
  • Sprints: Recruits take part in sprint exercises.
  • SAPR class: Sexual Assault Prevention and Response.
  • Intro to MCMAP:
  • Recruits are introduced to the Marine Corps Martial Arts Program
  • Circuit Course/ Combat Care I: Recruits take part in the circuit course and are instructed on the basics of combat care.
  • Intro to O- Course: Recruits are introduced to the obstacle course.
  • Intro to CFT/Combat Care II: Recruits are introduced to the combat fitness test (CFT) and get their second lesson in combat care.

WEEK ONE TRAINING DAYS

  • Monday, F4: Intro to Core Values/M16 Issue
  • Tuesday, T1: 4X-400M Intervals/SAPR I Class
  • Wednesday, T2: Intro to MCMAP
  • Thursday, T3: Circuit Course/Combate Care I
  • Friday, T4: Intro to O-Course/MCMAP
  • Saturday, T5: Intro to CFT/Combat Care II
  • Sunday, S1: Religious Services/S.U.L.D. Time
