Poolee Quarantine: Verify Address

Should the Quarantine address include a platoon number?
Because each location for Quarantine has its own protocol for mail and phone calls, it's not possible to answer this without additional information. Some locations may allow mail, but no phone calls. Or vice versa. Or the location your poolee resides may not allow mail or phone calls.

Welcome to the Marine Corps and your first introduction to the famous (or infamous depending on your perspective) Semper Gumby.

Clarification on Platoon Numbers:
On Friday of receiving week, your then-recruit will be told to which platoon they have been assigned. It is not likely you or they will know until that time. The address you use to write to your then-recruit AT boot camp during training and after Quarantine MUST INCLUDE a Platoon Number.

What did your poolee tell you when they called?
Your poolee is your best source for information at this time and you need to consider what s/he told you when they called. Your poolee told you what they were told to tell you about the address and whether or not they could have letters delivered during Quarantine.

You have these options to sort through the right answer:

Option 1:
Did your poolee give you an address and tell you that you could write letters to send during quarantine?

If you answered YES, then you're good to go. Use the address and send mail. If you answered NO, then don't send mail.

Option 2:
Did you get the address and instructions from your poolee's Marine Recruiter?

If you answered YES, then you're good to go. Use the address and send mail. If you answered NO, then don't send mail.

Option 3:
Did you get the address from another parent, a member, or from another support group, or other social media?

If you answered YES, use the address at our own risk. Write letters during quarantine if you so choose. The letters may or may not be delivered to your poolee.

Option 4:
Did your poolee send you an address with instructions to write to him/her AT THAT ADDRESS in a letter?

If you answered YES, then you're good to go. Use the address and send mail. If you answered NO, then don't send mail.
